The intelligent alarm system for retrofitting

Various sensors are built into sonsor, and they capture values inside. Depending on the settings you make in your app, the captured data can be visualized on your phone and your alarms can be customized.

In principle, your data is only visible in your app and is stored encrypted on German servers.

All people you invite to your sonsor via the app can also view the data and, depending on the permissions granted, edit it.

No, sonsor does not work offline. However, you receive an offline message as soon as the connection is interrupted.
If the device is still powered, sonsor automatically tries to reconnect to the internet. It either reconnects as soon as Wi-Fi is available again, or it uses the best available network via the integrated SIM card.

Once sonsor is active, you are completely flexible – no matter how far you move away from your camper, van, or property. sonsor reliably takes over monitoring for you.
Two simple ways to activate security:

Manually: Conveniently switch on break-in monitoring via the app – whenever you like.
Automatically with the Key function: sonsor detects on its own when you move away and starts monitoring.
This way sonsor informs you if something happens – with no effort at all.

No. sonsor generally works without a built-in battery. In our experience, it is always too small and also needlessly limits the lifespan of the device. Instead, you can run your sonsor with a power bank and decide for yourself how much capacity you need and when you want to replace the battery.

The Key function automatically arms the break-in monitoring of your sonsor alarm system when you are no longer nearby, and deactivates it when you return. For this you need a sonsor key fob. When you have this fob with you, your sonsor detects when you are nearby and when you are not. You can easily use one sonsor key fob at several locations.
You can activate the Key function in the sonsor app. To do so, slide the break-in monitoring activation slider all the way to the right.

In many cases, selecting the correct mounting type when setting up your sonsor is enough to get accurate temperature measurements, for example. If you notice a deviation, you can correct it with an offset under “Device settings > Devices > Calibration”. Because the measured values are interrelated, this calibration often also affects the measurement of humidity and air quality.

Yes, we regularly perform updates of your sonsor in the background. Make sure your sonsor is active or activate it before your next trip. You should also make sure that the current version of the app is installed on your smartphone.

In theory, sonsor can be mounted anywhere, but whether this also makes sense in practice has to be checked case by case. Individually adjustable sensors allow precise adaptation to the respective location. However, make sure the front of the device is not covered, so that the motion and light sensors are not restricted. You can mount sonsor directly on the wall with the wall mount (stick or screw), or for stationary use also set it up using the stand.

sonsor can be powered in four different ways.

1. With the included power adapter and cable, you can connect your sonsor directly to a 230V outlet.
2. If you have a USB-C output available, you can also run your sonsor from it with the included cable. (This includes power banks, but make sure the power bank's trickle-charge mode can be switched off. sonsor uses so little power that power banks sometimes switch off on their own.)
3. If you want to be on the safe side, you can also run your sonsor from an outlet with a power bank connected in between. If the mains power fails, the power bank takes over and gives you a buffer until the mains voltage is restored.
4. If you own a sonsor connect or a sonsor connect+ for concealed installation, you can also connect them directly to the 12V supply voltage of a house or vehicle battery.
   

The power consumption of sonsor can vary greatly depending on use. If the device transmits a lot of data (e.g. in live mode) or frequently searches for a new GPS location (e.g. with frequent
changes of location), the device uses significantly more power than in trickle mode. In eco mode with monitoring switched on but without movement and high data load, you can expect a runtime of about 10 days on a 20,000 mAh power bank.
For longer runtimes, we recommend a
larger power bank or operation via mains voltage.

Please note that sonsor GPS location tracking only works with the “sonsor mobil” variant.

Your sonsor looks for its current GPS location at regular intervals. This is then shown to you in the sonsor app. We have deliberately left out permanent tracking that shows exactly which route you drove.

This not only saves energy and data volume, but also protects your privacy.

To regulate the power consumption of your sonsor, you can choose from three different modes.

1. Performance mode
   - Your sonsor delivers the best sensor performance with normal sampling rates.
2. Eco mode
   - Your sonsor saves energy by deactivating motion detection when break-in monitoring is inactive.
3. Power Save mode
   - Your sonsor deactivates all sensors when break-in detection is inactive, to save as much energy as possible.

The range of the sonsor key fobs is specified by the manufacturer as >100m. However, this refers to optimal conditions and is reduced fairly quickly depending on the structural conditions on site. A range of at least 20m is often more realistic. Note that your motorhome in the driveway may still be within range of your key fob. Manual arming or the timer in the sonsor app helps here.
